Leaving SharePoint for a FLOSS document management system: the Eurométropole de Strasbourg case study
SharePoint Server 2016 and 2019 have reached end of support: what do you do with all your documents? The Eurométropole de Strasbourg asked itself the question before you, and chose FLOSS. On Thursday 10 December at 11:10, at Open Source Experience 2026, the local authority takes the stage with Jeci to tell the story of its migration to Pristy Marchés: the why, the how, and what it learned.
- When: Thursday 10 December 2026, 11:10 to 11:30
- Where: Katherine Johnson room, Paris Porte de Versailles, Hall 5.2
- Language: French
- Track: Sovereign Enterprise Application Platform
- With: Jérémie Lesage (Jeci) and the Eurométropole de Strasbourg
End of SharePoint Server 2016 and 2019: time to choose
When a vendor stops maintaining the software that holds your documents, it leaves you only two options: follow its new offer, often in the cloud and outside Europe, or take back control. The Eurométropole de Strasbourg chose to take back control. To manage its public tenders, it selected Pristy Marchés, an open source document management application (AGPL licence) already proven at the Département du Gard, where it was born.
Twenty minutes from the field, no sales pitch
A document management migration is daunting: thousands of documents, deep-rooted habits, business teams that cannot stop working. This talk shows how we carried it out together, with an agile method, with staff at the heart of the project and a tight schedule.
On the programme
- The starting point: the context of the Eurométropole de Strasbourg and its needs
- The answer: Pristy Marchés, open source (AGPL), born with the Département du Gard
- Being agile on a document management project: what it means in practice
- The method: 4 sprints of 3 weeks, priorities readjusted as the business team gave feedback
- The filing plan, built in 3 phases, document migration in batches and retention periods
- Co-construction, from the Département du Gard to the Eurométropole de Strasbourg
- Agile or V-model: what really changes
- Where the project stands in December 2026
The speakers

Jérémie Lesage, manager and software engineer at Jeci, is the creator of Pristy. A long-time FLOSS advocate, at PLOSS-RA as at April, he supported the Eurométropole de Strasbourg throughout the project.
Alongside him, a representative of the Eurométropole de Strasbourg will tell the project from the inside: where the need came from, what the teams expected, and how Pristy answered it. The local authority’s view, unfiltered.
Preparing for life after SharePoint too?
You don’t have to start from scratch. With Pristy Connect, we migrate your documents from SharePoint, a file server or Alfresco, with their metadata and permissions, and you keep your organisation. After the talk, come and discuss it with us at booth B16, or book a meeting now so we can set aside time at the show.
